Are you going to Texel and traveling by ferry? Then you make the crossing from the mainland to the island with the Texel ferry service. During the renovation plans for the kiosk “Bij de Boot” in the ferry harbor, the desire arose to allow customers to order their drinks, sandwiches, and snacks from an order kiosk. Now the kiosk has become a “Stop and Go.”

Order processing

In the kiosk, alongside fixed POS terminals, there are three self-order kiosks where guests can place an order with a single touch. The kiosk sends a signal to the Kitchen Manager screens in the kitchen, after which the chefs can start working on the orders. When the chef is finished, they tick off the order and it appears on the pickup screen with the corresponding number. At the pickup corner, the guest can collect the order within a few minutes. The Kitchen Manager ensures perfect streamlining of the processes, and for the customer, queues have become a thing of the past.

Perfect timing from online order to kitchen screen

If you’re traveling from Den Helder to Texel and fancy fries when you arrive, you can place an order via the ordering website, which is neatly received through the POS on the touchscreens at the kiosk. Based on the sailing times and the average preparation time, the chef can precisely time when the ordered fries should be ready and piping hot. A perfect solution!
